Arrest Made: Mr. Bungle Founding Member Accused of Girlfriend’s Murder

The former multi-instrumentalist of Mr. Bungle, Theo Lengyel, is currently in police custody on suspicion of being involved in the murder of his girlfriend, Alice Kamakaokalani Herrmann. Lengyel’s arrest comes after weeks of investigation into Herrmann’s disappearance.

Initially labeled as a ‘person of interest’ due to his refusal to cooperate in the investigation of his girlfriend’s disappearance starting on December 12, Lengyel’s status escalated to that of a suspect as evidence pointed towards foul play. The California Police Department subsequently took the former Mr. Bungle member into custody. Apart from the murder charges, Lengyel is also facing felony charges of burglary and auto theft.

Discovery of Kamakaokalani’s Dismembered Body Parts

Lengyel’s apprehension is linked to the revelation that he had traveled from El Cerrito, California, to Portland, Oregon, during the days surrounding Herrmann’s disappearance. Following this, investigators uncovered human remains in a wooded area in Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley, California.

While DNA results are still pending examination by the Contra Costa Coroner’s Office, authorities believe the discovered remains to be those of Lengyel’s missing girlfriend. Law enforcement has not disclosed specific details about the circumstances or location of Herrmann’s death.
