After a few days of anxiously awaiting word on his condition, Jeremy Renner has broken his silence on his condition from his snowplow injury. Renner has been the subject of many concerned headlines since New Year’s Day, in which it was reported that he was flown by a helicopter to a local hospital after being critically wounded in an accident involving his snowplow at his Nevada home. Investigation on the incident is still underway, though the best update yet has come about Renner’s injury.
Following an update confirming the actor to be in stable condition, Jeremy Renner has taken to Instagram to break the silence on his snowplow injury. Sharing an image of himself in a hospital bed with some bruising and blood on the left side of his face, the Hawkeye star expressed his gratitude for fans’ outpour of love and noted that while being “too messed up to type,” he sends his love right back to them. See Renner’s post below:
What We Know About Renner’s Snowplow Accident
Initially labeled as a weather-related accident, Renner is said to have injured himself while snowplowing his Nevada property on New Year’s Day morning, with his Snowcat rolling over and running over his leg, causing significant blood loss. Renner was tended to by a neighbor, who applied a tourniquet to the wound to slow the blood loss until paramedics could arrive, with the actor subsequently being helicoptered to a local hospital. Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve recently offered further insight into how his accident came to be, stating that Renner was in the midst of helping someone stranded in the snow when he was subsequently injured by his own machinery, in spite of safety measures installed on the Snowcat intended to prevent such a matter, though the Washoe Sheriff’s Office have assured they do not “suspect any foul play.”
Renner’s family offered an optimistic update on his injury the day after he was taken to the hospital, confirming he had been diagnosed with “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.” The official statement from his family did, however, assure he had undergone surgery and was in critical, but stable, condition and recovering in intensive care. Much like his own statement above, Renner’s family expressed their gratitude at the outpour of love from fans and well-wishes for his recovery.
Jeremy Renner’s Update Comes Amid An Outpouring Of Love
Fans aren’t the only ones who have been showing their support for Jeremy Renner following his snowplow accident. Fellow Marvel creatives James Gunn, the filmmaker behind the Guardians of the Galaxy films and new DC Studios co-head, Thor co-writer Zack Stentz and Miss Minutes voice actor Tara Strong have all taken to social media in the past few days, reflecting on their time working with the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Hawkeye actor and expressing their hopes for him to make a swift recovery. Though Renner likely still has a ways to go before he is fully recovered, his taking to social media with a hopeful message about his injury is sure to tide fans of the actor over in the meantime.
