Joe Elliott Emotional Goodbye to Def Leppard Fans in Tour’s Final Concert

Def Leppard has unveiled the 18th and final episode of their ‘Behind The World Tour’ YouTube series. This concluding episode showcases highlights from the band’s last performance on ‘The World Tour,’ featuring Mötley Crüe, held on November 14 in Melbourne, Australia. In the poignant eight-minute video, lead singer Joe Elliott offers a glimpse into his life on the road, bidding an emotional farewell as the tour wraps up after a total of 75 shows.

Reflecting on the tour and expressing nostalgia for the Mötley Crüe crew, Elliott shared, “The last show of the tour. This is where it all comes to an end. It’s all a bit boohoo because I went to see the guys early on and give them a big hug and stuff and say, ‘We’re gonna miss you guys,’ because it’s been great fun, it really has. What a commitment.”

The rockers embarked on the tour in support of their latest album, ‘Diamond Star Halos.’ Describing it as their most successful album to date, Elliott continued by delving into details about the album’s success: “But it was great because what we were doing we were promoting ‘Diamond Star Halos,’ biggest selling album we’ve had since ‘Adrenalize,’ then we released ‘Drastic Symphonies,’ which spent 16 weeks on number one of the classical chart.”

Diamond Star Halos’ Records Sales of 34,000 Copies

In May 2022, the band’s latest album made waves with an impressive debut, selling 34,000 album units in its first week in the U.S. This notable achievement catapulted the album to the 10th position on the Billboard 200 chart, marking the band’s eighth entry into the top 10.

Breaking down the 34,000 units amassed during the debut week, the majority stemmed from album sales, comprising 32,000 units. Streaming equivalent album units contributed an additional 2,000 units, reflecting roughly 2.7 million on-demand official streams of the album’s songs. Additionally, track equivalent album units constituted less than 500 units of the overall total.

Def Leppard Set to Embark on Tour Alongside Journey

Following the culmination of their recent tour, the band is gearing up for another exciting venture next year, hitting the road with Journey. The dynamic duo is set to embark on a 2023 summer North American tour, kicking off on July 6 in St. Louis and concluding on September 8 in Denver. The tour boasts a total of 23 dates, featuring stellar opening acts such as Steve Miller Band, Heart, and Cheap Trick.
