Liam Gallagher and John Squire Tease Collaborative Project

Liam Gallagher and John Squire have once again ignited excitement for their collaborative project, sharing a tantalizing video clip and unveiling a new website.

The collaboration was initially teased by Gallagher in June 2022 during his historic Knebworth shows, where he brought out Squire, the lead guitarist of The Stone Roses. Their joint performance of the Oasis classic ‘Champagne Supernova’ sparked speculation, with Gallagher hinting at a potential “supergroup” in a tweet.

In a subsequent interview with Matt Wilkinson on Apple Music 1 in September 2022, Gallagher confirmed plans to work with Squire. Although details were scant, he affirmed, “Yeah. Serious, man. But we’ve got things to do first, and he’s got things to clear up and that. But yeah, I’m definitely going to do summat at some point.”

After a period of silence, Gallagher took to Twitter in October, boldly proclaiming that the joint album with Squire would be “the best record since Revolver,” referencing The Beatles’ iconic 1966 album.

Building on the anticipation, Gallagher recently shared an Instagram video featuring Squire’s guitar prowess over the years, set to The Stone Roses’ ‘Love Spreads’. In the video, Gallagher hails Squire as “without a doubt, the best guitarist of his generation and in the world in my opinion.”

Continuing the tease, Gallagher provided a link to a sleek new website, accessible from his Instagram bio. The minimalist landing page features both musicians’ names, inviting fans to sign up for a mailing list.

As of now, no further details have been disclosed about the collaboration between Liam Gallagher and John Squire.

In other Liam Gallagher news, his release of Knebworth 22 earlier this year secured his fifth solo number one on the Official Albums Chart. The record includes the electrifying performance of ‘Champagne Supernova’ with John Squire.
