On Thursday, Miley Cyrus graced Instagram with a snippet of her rendition of Journey’s 1983 hit ‘Faithfully.’ The response from Spotify and fans was so overwhelming that they urged for a complete version of the performance, particularly from Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont.

Not one to disappoint her fans, Cyrus swiftly delivered. The full cover of the second single from the ‘Frontiers’ album was promptly released on YouTube on the very same day.

During Christmas, the singer treated a small gathering of family and friends at the hotel to a delightful performance. Amidst various original songs, she delivered a rendition of ‘Faithfully,’ accompanied solely by a piano, staying true to the original version. Injecting a dose of humor into her performance, Cyrus playfully teased Dave Grohl. Just before diving into the second verse, she quipped: “Dave Grohl is coming out of the Christmas tree for the drums.”

The Singer Previously Performed Rock/Metal Covers

Cyrus has a track record of exploring rock and metal covers. She collaborated with Def Leppard for a rendition of ‘Photograph’ at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in Los Angeles, where Dave Grohl joined them on stage at the Kia Forum.

In another notable performance, the pop singer took the lead for Metallica during a rendition of ‘Nothing Else Matters’ on the Howard Stern Show. Her studio-recorded version of the 1991 classic was subsequently released as the opening track from the 2021 tribute album, ‘The Metallica Blacklist.’
