Tommy Lee Speaks Out About the New Mötley Crüe Record Without Mick Mars

After Nikki Sixx unveiled the release date for their record in 2024, Tommy Lee recently discussed Mötley Crüe’s upcoming music in an interview with Desert Sun. Lee expressed:

“Just wait until you hear it, it’s insane. It’s not a full album, but that might be down the road a bit. We’re always writing and doing stuff, so that’s always a possibility in the future. We just hit the studio not too long ago and recorded three incredible tracks, and one of them is titled ‘Dogs of War.’ We’re in the final stages of completing the video for it.”

This new music marks the band’s first since guitarist John 5 joined them following Mick Mars’s retirement from touring in 2022, leading to a legal dispute with his former bandmates. Addressing the lineup change, Lee shared:

“For those craving some new Crüe, people are going to be blown away. John 5 is on it, the guitar work is incredible, and it sounds absolutely fantastic.”

John 5’s Thoughts on the Latest Tracks from Crüe

In a September interview with Meltdown from Detroit’s WRIF radio station, John 5 delved into the new music, stating:

“I don’t know when it’s gonna come out, but everything is planned. Everything is mapped out and structured, and everything is, ‘We’re gonna do it here and there,’ and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So, the songs are recorded, mixed, mastered. And they’re so good. I can’t wait for them to come out. They’re so good. I’m really excited about ’em.”

Mötley Crüe, alongside producer Bob Rock, recorded three new songs in early 2023, including ‘Dogs Of War’ and a cover of Beastie Boys’ ‘(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!).’ The guitarist continued:

“Who knows what’s going to happen? I don’t know if we’ll just release singles or an album. It’s up to those guys, so I don’t know. We just record and see what happens. But these songs that we recorded are so good; they’re heavy, and the melodies and everybody’s just killing it on these songs.”

Mick Mars is Engaged in Crafting a New Record

The band’s latest music is set to coincide with their performances at 2024 festivals such as Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Summerfest in Milwaukee, and the Ottawa Bluesfest. Simultaneously, Mick Mars’s inaugural solo album is scheduled to hit the shelves on February 23.

Mars has already unveiled two singles from his solo project, ‘The Other Side Of The Mars,’ titled ‘Loyal To The Lie’ and ‘Right Side Of Wrong.’ Despite some fan speculation triggered by the release of ‘Loyal To The Lie,’ the guitarist clarified that it is unrelated to his departure from Mötley Crüe.
