In a recent interview with American Songwriter, Shinedown guitarist Zach Myers expressed his newfound inspiration and optimism for the music industry, thanks to none other than Taylor Swift.
Despite his roots in rock, Myers shared how Swift’s remarkable feat of releasing four albums in just three to four years without missing the mark left him pleasantly surprised and hopeful for both the future of music and its creators: “What caught my attention in 2023 was the fact that Taylor Swift produced essentially four albums in three to four years and didn’t miss a beat. That gives me hope for the music industry and for fellow songwriters.”
Taylor Swift Reigns as the Top Solo Artist of 2023
Finding inspiration in Swift’s success is quite reasonable, considering the singer clinched the top spot on the Billboard 200 as a solo artist with her latest album, ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version).’ Swift not only surpassed Elvis Presley, who held the record with 67 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 but also extended her reign to an impressive 68 weeks at the summit.
Despite these remarkable achievements, Swift has a considerable journey ahead if she aims to surpass The Beatles, who currently hold the record with an impressive 132 weeks at the number one spot.
